Travelzoo has announced that it intends to use the domain for a new information web site that it expects to launch sometime in February.
While the $1.8 million price tag is nowhere near the record for a domain, it is a considerable amount to spend in the current business environment. If economic conditions improve, Travelzoo may find out that they got a steal on this buy. If nothing else, prices like these help to remind webmasters how much value there can be in a domain name.
