By now you have probably heard some of the rumbling in the SEO community that has resulted from Google’s change in policy on Pagerank and nofollow links. The change in policy could have very real and serious effects on the SEO efforts of all websites, especially those with a high number of nofollowed links.
I could go into all of the details of the implications of this change, but randfish of the SEOmoz Blog has already done a good job of explaining things with his recent post on Pagerank sculpting. I strongly recommend giving his post a quick read when you have a chance.
I’m not exactly sure what caused Google to make this change in policy, but it appears that they are serious about the change. Now, SEOs everywhere are going to have a lot of work to do in order to figure out how to best adjust their practices to account for Google’s announcement.
