Getting those high quality backlinks from trusted domains can be a very tricky task. One option is to get listed in one of the high-trust web directories like DMOZ, Yahoo, and Best of The Web, but these listings can be expensive and difficult to get. In an effort to make the Internet a better place, the website AboutUs.org will actually give out dofollow backlinks….if you know how to get them.
By default, all of the external links on a domain’s wiki page at AboutUs are tagged with the “nofollow” link attribute. This is done in order to limit the amount of spam that the site receives. AboutUs does have a program that they call ProFollow which is basically a way for the website to give out some link-love to quality web sites. If you have a high-quality website and have created a nice AboutUs Wiki page for your domain, you can contact AboutUs and request that your page become part of the ProFollow program which will remove the “nofollow” link attribute from your wiki page.
My experience has been that the moderators are typically quick to respond to the ProFollow requests and will often ask that you improve your wiki page if you haven’t done much with it. Either way, this is one of the easiest high-trust backlinks that you will find, so build your AboutUs wiki page and request to be ProFollowed. Good luck!

Thanks for the information. I didn’t know about the “profollow” program.
