Lookout Google, Microsoft is taking its shot at Adsense. The company has finally released its new PubCenter Beta to the public, but only in the United States. Pubcenter is a contextual advertising program that will allow users to display ads coming from Microsoft’s advertising networks on their websites. The current beta release of PubCenter allows web publishers to:
- Customize ads to match the look and feel of each website
- Gain access to the large Microsoft advertising network
- Track ad performance using various analytics tools
It remains to be seen whether PubCenter will be a better alternative to AdSense for some web publishers, but I have to assume that having more options can’t hurt. If you want to sign up for the Microsoft PubCenter Beta program, visit the PubCenter website.
