We mentioned some hot new real time web startups last week and today we’re going to walk you through Sency, which offers websites a free feed for their websites and blogs that allow site owners to place real time, automatically updating, content on their pages. The free feed is private labeled and it allows websites and blogs to customize the subject matter along with several other attributes such as width, height, border, text color, title, and source. The feed can add sticky content for bloggers and site owners and its real time so it allows users to easily see what is going on right now for a respective subject category.
The search functionality
The Sency search engine offers two unique aspects:
1) The first tab brings users real time results without links in them. Many of the real time results contain links which are spammy, so be removing the links, the results are cleaner.
2) The second tab offers Today’s most popular links. So, if you search for a keyword, you can see which are the most popular links, over the past day, for that respective keyword. By sorting the links based on popularity, and not recency, a lot of the spammy links are removed from the results.
