New Study Shows Online Privacy Still a Big Issue With Consumers

A recent study completed by TRUSTe showed that more than  95% of consumers still consider online privacy to be an important issue. The study found that one-third of participants did not know that their information can be collected by third parties for advertising purposes.

Even though consumers are clearly concerned about online privacy, fewer are worried about advertisers using their browsing history to serve up relevant ads. It seems that there may be just as much frustration with the fact that the  ads users are seeing are not relevant at all! 84% of those surveyed said that zero to 25% of the ads they see online are relevant to their wants and needs. Looks like there is still plenty of room for improvment there.
