There have been rumors flying around about the possibility of Twitter adding video to the sites functionality. Well, Founder Biz Stone shot that idea down, in less than 140 characters. In a response to our friends at Mashable, Twitter Founder Biz Stone replied
“Haven’t read the piece but no video hosting. 140 characters of text including spaces. You know the drill!”
Twitter’s business model is based off of simplicity and has been successful thus far. Twitter’s recent $1 billion valuation has been causing a bit of controversy considering the site hasn’t made a penny yet. Video would certainly add to the user experience if it was added, however at this point it seems as if they want to keep it as simple as possible.
