Most internet marketers either use Twitter a lot or don’t use it at all. I was in the latter category for a long time before I realized just how helpful Twitter can be for driving traffic to a website. By twiting often, you will find that you can very quickly develop a pretty substantial number of follower on Twitter. This is great because you can announce new blog postings or new website features on Twitter and reach all of those people at once!
For those of you using Wordpress, there is a plugin that I use to make posting Twitter updates automatic. The plugin is called Twitme and you can download it for free from the Wordpress plugin directory. Once you activate the plugin, you just have to provide your Twitter credentials and you are good to go. Each time you post something on your blog, Twitme will automatically post a note and a link to the blog posting from your Twitter account. It doesn’t get any easier than that! There are some setting available in the plugin that will allow you to only twit when you post items to certain categories so that all posts don’t have to go up on Twitter.
