Worldwide Search Traffic Up 41%

Recently announced data from comScore shows that more than 113 billion searches were conducted during July 2009. The total amounts to a robust 41% increase over July 2008. Google held its significant lead with 67.5% of the total search market. Google sites actually outperformed the overall search market with a 58% increase in searches from July 2008. Yahoo remained the #2 search engine with 7.8% of the market. Although Microsoft sites trailed Chinese search engine Baidu in fourth place, searches were up 41% for its sites as well.
